Ed Coletti is a third-generation Thoroughbred trainer whose family has been involved in horse racing for decades. His grandfather laid the foundation for the family’s work in the sport, followed by his father, who began training in the Northeast before expanding operations to Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 1974.
Ed has spent every summer at the racetrack since the age of nine, developing hands-on experience from an early age. He also worked alongside his father at their farm in Ocala, where he learned how to break young horses, evaluate athletic ability, and navigate the sales process.
Training professionally since 1994, Ed earned a Grade 3 victory in the Victory Ride Stakes with Dixie Serenade. Over the past decade, he has been actively attending sales and purchasing horses, building strong relationships that help him identify quality athletes and opportunities.
Today, Ed continues to train with a practical, experience-driven approach, supported by deep industry connections and a strong family presence at the barn, including help from his daughter and niece.

Jim Holmes was introduced to Thoroughbred racing at a young age, spending much of his childhood at the track while his father owned claiming horses at Garden State Park in the late 1960s and 1970s. After the track’s closure in 1977, racing remained a constant part of Jim’s life through regular trips to Delaware Park, Philadelphia Park, Atlantic City, and Monmouth Park.
Jim studied economics at Rutgers University and later trained in culinary arts at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, New Jersey. He spent over 22 years in the food service industry, operating and managing a range of dining concepts before stepping away to focus on his family.
He returned to horse ownership in 2012 through a syndicate program, launched 3 Ladies Stables in 2016, and partnered with Edward J. Coletti Jr. to form Whiskey Run Stables in 2019.
Jim has been actively involved in attending sales and evaluating horses since 2014, contributing directly to the stable’s acquisition and long-term strategy.

Horse racing is speculative and involves risk. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Ownership opportunities should be considered carefully and with the understanding that financial returns are not guaranteed.
